Is simply rubbish!

Not only do they bill you for things you don’t have - they bill you for things after you have sent the equipment back to them!

Waiting on hold for 56.32 minutes isn’t customer service either, we put the phone down after this long.

They say that they are a progressive company, so progressive that they will say you can get a particular service and then, the very next day, say that this service isn’t available - and, as I said before, bill you for it.

Thankfully we tracked the equipment through the post and proved that we sent it back. Otherwise I could see our bill for non-extant equipment and service rising as each month went on.

As always, buyer beware. They will promise so much and deliver very little - deregulate the phone and internet services in Canada, customers will get some services much better than now, and we in the rural areas will be brought into the 20th century at least.

Well, if you go to Niagara Falls, ON you can pick up US carrier signals if you ever want to protest them. Also, I wouldn’t go to any Blue Jays games either.

I have no idea who the Blue Jays are, Steve.

The Canadian telecoms market needs deregulating - being swamped by the US telecommunication companies isn’t such a bad thing as long as the profits are used by those companies to invest in Canada.

Looking north will be a good idea for a lot of US industries, the US economy is about to collapse.

I dunno about collapse Will. Don’t you have a choice of providers? Are you in Nova Scotia? I’ve seen bell mobilite, Rogers Wireless, there’s even sprint there… It’s not like we have a massive selection of wireless, there’s probably 4-5 providers here.

I think lots of people talk of worst case scenarios, and honestly, at least where I live, nobody can notice anything other than milk costs more besides gasoline.

the US problem is due to idiots thinking they could turn a profit off of property. hopefully a lesson will be learned, by the borrowers and the lenders. Though of course that will create redlining issues again..

However, if I were to invest, at least in for the short term, make money in what depressed people like, alcohol.

I am in New Brunswick, Steve. We have Bell Aliant, Rogers and Telus. Aliant has a monopoly, Rogers is trying to break that but not doing so well.

We also live in the “boonies” so we are restricted to Dial-up or Dial-up or Satellite. A local guy is investing in a Wi-Fi tower and will be taking a lot of business from the big guys - that won’t last long though.

I only see the US going out of business if they keep going the way they are, Steve - but I am just getting my information off the Newscasts - it never really is as bad for the people on the floor and living reality. But - someone is going to make a fortune off this down-turn.

I know so many people who have been fed up with the way Rogers operates. And you are right they seem to promise one thing and when you finally realize they’ve just sucked you into something else, it’s too late. You have a contract that will cost you hundreds to get out of.

I had an issue with them, that did get straightened out. It was frustrating to say the least.
