Bush Preaches Freedom

May 18, 2008 · 3 Comments

I know, I know - an oxymoron!

But the Dear Mr Bush has decided to come out and say that those in the middle-East should advocate and enact more freedoms for its people. Cool, eh?

“Expanding freedom is vital to turning temporary wealth into lasting prosperity,” he said. “Free societies stimulate competition in the marketplace. Free societies give people access to the information they need to make informed and responsible decisions. And free societies give citizens the rule of law, which exposes corruption and builds confidence in the future.”

I had to giggle.

So the American people will have - within the next few days, real freedom of information, Yay! We will find out which American agency assassinated JFK and whether the moon landings were staged or not. The US will be able to route out corruption?

Mr Bush is sounding like a left-wing liberal!

This couldn’t be all an act surely. I mean - Mr Bush has been so open and uncorruptable while in office he is leading by example, isn’t he?

“Too often in the Middle East, politics has consisted of one leader in power and the opposition in jail,” Bush said. “I call on all nations in this region to release their prisoners of conscience, open up their political debate and trust their people to chart their future.”

Bwahahahaha! No - he was being serious! He advocates that the people of a country should say who leads them, yes - George Bush said that. Not that there was any contention about his election victories.

National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley would only say that Bush plans to return “when there is work for him to do to advance the process.

Hold on a second - isn’t that appeasement? The president going to a nation when required to add his weight to bring about a lasting peace? Erm…where have I heard that before?

Ah yes - Barack Obama said it.

Tut, Mr Bush, tut!

Hey, that blog that cited your article, and misstated the author…. I noticed it do the same thing on my blog. Funny thing it is scouring the web for poilticllay loaded keywords relating to certain current events, and aggregating them. It makes me wonder what it is being used for? It’s not the typical ad revenue building stuff. Spooky! BB is wachting.
