Will Rhodes:
Yes, that’s me. This is my blog, my little part of the web that people can read - whether they do is still a matter that I don’t know about. If you do read anything on here please feel free to add a comment. I really would like to hear your thoughts. I have set it up so you don’t have to register and can remain quite anonymous. I can’t be bothered to log in to comment so I don’t see why I should ask others to do it, you know - do unto others as…etc.
Well, to the actual little about me bit. I, as you may have seen, am a man - and Englishman at that, for which I am very proud. I love the history of England and I will never make any apologies about that.
My aspiration in life is to become a published author - I write different genres, which I have been told is a bad thing, for the life in me I cannot understand why that is a bad thing, we are humans and as such are complex things - downright idiotic at times but complex none the less. So far I have completed two novels and am working on more. My mind cannot stop thinking up new stories to write, this has been a mania for me from an early age - I used to tell my sister stories to help her go to sleep, they were my stories not ones read from a book.
I am looking for a literary agent to represent me; but like so many other writers out there it is hard work to get the break you need. I am neither a celebrity, politician, sports star, or - like I have said above - a lotto winner, so I have to work hard to get my work published, if ever I do.
I am quite old fashioned in my thinking so I really cannot stand political correctness. It was a good idea that was taken over by idiots that made so it wasn’t recognisable to those who came up with the idea in the first place.I like visual comedy, for some reason it really does make me laugh out loud. I also like good stand up - there just are not enough good stand up comedians around today. They have to have some agenda - why this is the case God only knows, but it just isn’t funny to me. I am up to 46 on the chronological scale of life. Yet, even now I still feel that I should be 12. My wife says I am a moody bugger - I agree! I love sports especially Manchester United Football Club - when they win big, I cry, not an admission that I have a female side, it is that I have passion for my club. The only real problem I have is that I live in Canada and can’t get to Old Trafford any more. I married a Canadian lass and love Canada; it is a beautiful country with fantastic people.I am also a Christian - not a Bible thumping one, just your common-a-garden every day Christian that tries to do the best I can knowing that even my best isn’t good enough sometimes. My favourite number is 13 - I love 13, I should have been born on the 13th I love that number so much, that said, this is probably why I am so unlucky! Certainly not as unlucky as my brother George - but unlucky enough. I mean unlucky in winning the lotto - because I do count my blessings.
As I said I have a wonderful wife and several children - I am even a granddad, 46 and a granddad - what is the world coming to!?I will leave this as is for now if I can think of anything more I will edit this page - if you would like to know anything about me further to what is written here, just ask - I don’t bite, well not very hard.
Peace!

Just wanted to say I’ve been enjoying you blog, and good luck with your writing. I agree with you about writing in different genres; a lot of people (particularly publishers) find it easier to categorise writers as one thing and don’t like it when they try to branch out. But as long as they’re following a genuine story idea (not just trying to write the next big seller), I think it’s a very sensible thing to do… otherwise you’re censoring your creative side.

Thanks for the comment, Will!
I’ve been told the exact same thing, mate. It’s the pigeon-hole mentality of the industry, and it sucks like a Dyson.
I’ve added your feed. Hope to see you around.

Where in Canadia are you? I’ll be in Montreal in the end April. Hoping to learn enough French to practice it for my Rivieria trip in July.
